The How and the Why

Firstly, WOW. I would never in a million years have expected the kind of response to 'Meditations' that there has been since I started posting out pre-orders (earlier than expected) a couple of weeks ago. It has been overwhelming, and I wanted to say thank-you to those who have bought the book, given lovely feedback, shared stories, or posted your coloured images on the Facebook group ('Colouring In Truth', in case you have just arrived!) Incidentally, we are organising the second print run already, as we've almost sold out of the first one...and we haven't quite got to the 'official' release date of October 1st.

Wild.

But enough of my staggering around in shock.

Over the past few months I have been asked quite a few times about why I chose particular verses to include in the book, how I decide what designs to do, and what goes through my head as I draw them. I wanted to share a bit of the story behind each of the images and verses from the book, in case it can be an encouragement to you, or at least satisfies some of the curiosity you may or may not have had about my thinking behind the book.

I'm going to do a series of blog posts - one each day for the next 18 days, with a short blurb about the artworks in the book. This will also coincide with the release of the individual digital images available to license for use with groups (over at www.firewheelpress.com). I hope you follow along and enjoy the sneak peak into my brain and heart - me behind the pen.

We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become so dear to us.
